Bragging. Boasting. When we brag or boast it sounds often sounds too much like, “I love me”. When we boast our statements are far from the Bible’s imperative, “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord” (1 Cor. 1:31). In this message Pastor Frusti takes us on an uncomfortable look at our sinful boasting and challenges us to step out of our comfort to boast in what really matters.

Bible Memory Verse:

1 Corinthians 1:18 (ESV) “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Digging Deeper Study:

Read John 2:16 – 17.  How and what is the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit teaching Jesus’ disciples?  Find the referenced verse from the Old Testament and read the entire chapter in the Old Testament.
How were the words Jesus used while cleansing the Temple used against Him?  Cf. Matt. 26:61; 27:40; Mark 14:58; 15:29.
