I Shall Not Want (Coming Soon)

I Shall Not Want (Coming Soon)

Summary

“When its gone, its gone.” That’s the way it usually works. With limited supplies we manage what we have to make it last as long as possible. The words of Elijah may sound surreal, “The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth” (1 Kings 17:14). Elijah passed on this Divine promise in the midst of a devastating drought  – to a woman gathering sticks in order to bake a final loaf of bread before she and her son would starve to death! God kept His promise, miraculously preventing the woman’s meager rations from depleting. As we pray “give us this day our daily bread” we confidently trust that our generous God will graciously provide all we need.
