Personal Care Items Needed to Welcome New International Friends

Flint International Friends ministry is preparing to welcome international students with a practical and helpful gift.  When international students arrive for new student orientation at the University of Michigan – Flint, volunteers from Flint International Friends Association will be there to present them with a shower caddy that includes a variety of personal hygiene items.

A shower caddy may seem like an unusual gift for college students who traveled thousands of miles to study in Flint.  However, this is a great help.  These items are helpful to someone who is thousands of miles from family, has no transportation, and may not know how to shop in his/her new country.

Over the coming weeks, Trinity members are asked to donate the following personal hygiene items for this project over the coming weeks:

  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Soap
  • Deodorant
  • Hand towel
  • Mouthwash
  • Washcloth
  • Shampoo

A laundry basket has been set up in Trinity’s narthex to receive these donations over the coming weeks.

Flint International Friends Association (FIFA) seeks to befriend Flint’s international students and their families through Christ’s love. Throughout the year, this all-volunteer ministry offers conversational English Groups, outings to local attractions, connects students with American families for holiday meals, and other activities.
