The King Denied

This Week’s Proclaimer

Our midweek Lenten journey continues on Wednesday, March 27 with this message by Pastor John Kaiser of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer, MI.

Message Overview

In Matthew 16, Peter made what is called the “Great Confession.” He confessed Jesus to be the Christ, God’s anointed King. But only moments later he rejected how Jesus described the work of the Christ in the suffering and death of the cross. Later, in the courtyard of the high priest Peter denies his King repeatedly. Yet, Christ will not deny His office as the Savior of sinners. Nor will Christ deny His love for us even though that love requires suffering and death.
