It is Confirmation Weekend at Trinity. Some important promises are made at our confirmation. These promises are important because we made them to God, Himself. Satan makes it very hard for Christians to keep these promises. In this sermon, Pastor Frusti presents some useful ways the Christian can prepare to live his or her confirmation vows.

Some of the challenges we face today are not unlike the challenges faced by Christians in the Book of Acts. This sermon also connects to “A.D. – The Bible Continues” series on N.B.C. The TV series presents in dramatic form the first 10 chapters of the Book of Acts – a time when it was increasingly difficult for the Christian to remain faithful.

Bible Memory Verse:
1 Peter 5:6 (ESV)  “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,”
Digging Deeper Study:
In 1 Peter 5:8-9, Peter warns that Satan is extremely dangerous.   Which words indicate the threatening nature of the devil?
Do you often consider the devil to be as harmful to you as you would a lion?  When visiting the zoo you would never consider climbing the fence to enter the lion exhibit.  What changes do you need to make in your life to keep a safe distance from life-threatening dangers of Satan?
What advice does James give for keeping the devil at safe distance (James 4:7)?
